Meet The Team

Interior Design Oxford - Stella Mannering & Team

I was always a creative child, surrounded by a family of makers and artists gave me a natural eye and passion for design.

I have been working as an Interior Designer since I was 18. I started out working for a large homeware company where I visited a different client everyday, managing lots of big projects, up to 15 at a time and loved every minute of it! After working there for over 3 years I decided that I wanted to go freelance – so I setup my own business and started working for myself. I undertook some amazing independent projects and renovations. During this time I also took part in BBC1’s Interior Design Masters and worked with Matthew Williamson on some large commercial projects.

All these amazing adventures and diverse experience led me beautifully to Stella. It was perfect timing – just when I was craving creative collaboration and the team studio environment I found Stella Mannering & Company. I love working with the divine team. We’re a fab little family and I get to do a job a love which means I never have to work again!

My role at Stella Mannering & Company has evolved during my time with the company. I work on all aspects from designing to planning and not one day is the same which makes for a creative environment – collaborating with the rest of the team is what I love most.

My background is in Textile Design specialising in surface pattern where I completed my degree at Nottingham Trent University. After graduating I landed my first job as a print designer, for a well-known retail fashion house, in London. My role consisted of trend research, colour and fabric insight, liaising with fabric houses, designing prints for all product categories. Having gained nearly 3 years of commercial experience, I made the decision to transition into interior design where my true passion lay. Most recently I have graduated from KLC and can now officially say I am an Interior Designer!

I have always had a keen eye for interiors and regularly keep up to date with the latest trends through interior magazines, blogs and attending design fairs. I love to visit different countries and explore new cultures for inspiration – taking my camera wherever I go. Having a background in surface design and colour has a strong influence on my personal style. I love using an eclectic richness of colour and pattern while adding unique furniture and contemporary art to my design schemes.

I have a dual role at Stella Mannering & Company – as Studio Manager ensuring everything runs smoothly on a day to day basis and I am also Stella’s Personal Assistant, covering a variety of responsibilities from purchasing to liaising with clients and suppliers. Every day is different and I love the creative environment and the sheer variety – no two days are ever the same!

My background has been in marketing and PA roles in creative companies. Previously I worked for a landscape architecture practice, a graphic design partnership and a renowned UK retailer for their in-house Design team. It’s great that my organisational, interpersonal and client focused skills are now utilised here.

I’m passionate about the design world in all its forms. I attended a ‘Women into Design’ course where I studied six modules of design including product design, computer graphics and drawing. I also adore photography, art and architecture and love to visit exhibitions for creative inspiration.”
